Everything below assumes you have a suitable and safe rigging point, like a professionally installed rigging point or a reputable and rated freestanding rig. Not every home/studio will be the same, so we cannot advise on this part. If you haven’t established a safe rigging point, please do this first with the help of a structural engineer/experienced rigger/professional familiar with what you're hanging and where you're hanging it.

High Quality

The Firetoys 3-ply Corde lisse are made from 36mm diameter, 100% soft cotton with standard shock stretch. Like all 3 ply ropes, the stretch is at its maximum when new which is ideal for cushioning drops. Over its life span the stretch will reduce making beats easier than ever.

3-ply ropes are excellent for all types of climbs because they are easy to fold and wrap.

They have a comfortable hand-grip, and after they have had some use and stretched out a bit, they are excellent for toe climbs.

3-ply is often the best choice when beginners are learning descents, like the propeller. Because the rope is bumpy, it can be a little more forgiving when the user is still learning to control the descent speed.

High Durability

All 3-ply ropes are supplied with a reinforced steel eye for extra durability. Because of the steel-eye, we recommend using the ISC Pear-Shaped carabiner with these ropes because it has an extra-wide gate opening. You can also choke a strop to the eye and then use a Prodigy oval carabiner.

The 3-ply rope is an excellent choice for a high-use environment since there is no cover to replace.

Check out the Braided Corde Lisse if you're looking for something equally durable but with less stretch and a smooth grip. Check out the Cotton Covered Aerial Rope if you need something more comfortable and easier for little hands to grip.

Which rope do I want?

Firetoys 3-ply Ropes

The chunky yet flexible nature of the 3-ply ropes allow for sturdy wraps, but the bounce and stretch along with the bumpier surface can make rolls more difficult for some. The stretch makes these ideal for cushioning dynamic drops.

Prodigy Braided Ropes

The sturdier and more rigid braided rope makes these incredibly supportive, and easy to climb. The slight amount of bounce makes drops a little comfier than a covered rope, but not so stretchy as to make releases problematic. A bit thick for smaller hands, but the broader, smoother surface makes rolls and propellors very smooth.

Prodigy Cotton Covered Ropes

A soft cover over a hardy non-stretchy core, this rope is better suited to very dynamic swings and beats, as no energy is lost to bounce. Releases and regrips are better here, though drops can be more impactful.

Great rope!

I love this rope, it is soft and flexible and vibrant red! Has a nice bit of stretch to it so it is lovely for drops. In the very beginning the cotton can be quiet slippery until it's worked in for a few weeks. So keep that in mind. I've had it for a month now and I absolutely love it!

Excellent product

I have had very good results with this corde so far. There is a high level of stretch initially, maybe too much on first instinct, but this is done so that the rope reacts well to prolonged use. The rope needs to be "broken in" to find the best medium between stretch and grip, so don't judge too quickly after buying. The thick cotton provides good grip in the hands, and comfort in hip keys as well as foot locks. The splice job was impressive to say the least, and the string bindings seem like they are going to work very well. I think I will add tape to the ends of the rope, just to ensure less wear. Overall I think this is a great product for an advanced aerialist. Great for Release moves, locked drops, and all forms of static posing. I don't know if I would recommend this rope for beginners, as it's finer qualities may not be as useful until working with advanced movent. For beginners and intermediate aerialists, I might recommend a sleeved Spanish Web, or the braided version of the Corde offered on this website. If you are a professional aerialist or a pro hobbyist, I think this is a great investment.
